As a Physician-Scientist, Attending Radiation Oncologist and Associate Professor at Penn Medicine and the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Dorsey has over 15 years of experience in treating primary and metastatic tumors of the central nervous system, using state-of-the-art techniques such as Proton therapy and Gamma Knife radiosurgery. He is board-certified in Radiation Oncology and has a PhD in Molecular Oncology from Moffitt/USF and residency training in Therapeutic Radiology at Penn. He is also a translational researcher and educator in the field of cancer and radiation biology, genomics, biomarkers, and cancer nanotechnology. He has been continuously funded by the NIH for the past decade and has published in the AACR, Cell, Science, and Nature journals. Dr. Dorsey participates as a member and panel chair in NCI CSR study sections for scientific review of grant applications submitted to the NIH. He leads a translational lab that explores novel strategies to overcome resistance and enhance sensitivity to therapies in brain tumors and other solid cancers. He serves as Co-Leader of the Radiation Oncology Translational Center of Excellence at Penn, member of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) at the Abramson Cancer Center, and the Director of the NIH-sponsored SUPERS@PENN program, which aims to foster diversity and inclusion in biomedical sciences. His mission is to advance the understanding and treatment of cancer through innovation, collaboration, and mentorship.
